Alberta CoLab was disbanded in March 2020. This page exists as a historical record. The systemic design and
foresight mindset describes a set of values and habits that guide the
interpretation of methodology and the application of methods.
We believe that the best
systemic designers and foresight analysts are inquiring, open, integrative,
collaborative, and centred.
In addition to the five
characteristics noted above, it is critical to acknowledge and embrace
uncertainty. Systems thinking and
foresight require us to recognize that the future is not predetermined. While this is kind of scary
(so much uncertainty!), it’s also exciting (at least we think so!). Whatever
doesn’t exist, we have the possibility to create. We believe that there are
always opportunities if we look for them. |
