Looking reaches outside the existing knowledge base of the team to bring external references into the design project. This can include horizon scans, ethnography, models, field trips, and non-traditional data sources. External references help broaden a team’s perspective, deepen understanding of a problem, and expand options for improving it by introducing different perspectives and world views that provide opportunities for reframing. |
